Parallel_London_Logo_(3)The Wheelchair Dance Sport Association (UK) is happy to announce that we will be taking part in the Parallel London, the world’s first-ever fully-accessible event which is coming to London this September. Held at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, home of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and with sport at its heart, there’s something for everyone. So why not get involved and join in the fun.

Parallel London is a track event with four distances to choose from – 100m, 1km, 5km, 10km. These challenges are totally accessible, and disabled participants are eligible to take one buddy for free around the course. Run it, walk it, push it, be pushed. Anything goes!

The WDSA (UK) is looking for individuals that would be willing to fundraising for the WDSA (UK) it costs £20 to register for a place, and we ask participants to aim to raise £150 for WDSA (UK). With your support we can make a huge difference to the lives of the disability community.  All children who are 13 years or under must take part with an adult. Any one adult can accompany a maximum of two children.

We also are really excited  that  Parallel London are also hosting a festival of fun and interactive environments on the day for spectators and participants alike to enjoy.  The WDSA (UK) will be Main WDSA (UK)also at this festival running Inclusive and Wheelchair Dance activity for everyone to take part in and show that everyone can dance, keep active and have fun!

Parallel London is all about inclusion; the challenge event is open to children and adults, to disabled and non-disabled people. The challenge event is about everyone taking part at the same time, having fun together, and not racing against a clock.
