1116Para Dance UK are looking forward to hosting the UK National Para Dance Sport Championships on the 22nd June 2019 in Bristol

The UK’s official National Championships will gather the best UK Para Dancers, this year the event will be taking place at the Centre for Sport Bristol at the University of West England. We are looking forward to welcoming 60 Athletes for across the UK and over 100 people coming along to support and cheer on their local group, as well as those that will watch via social media posts throughout the day.  This Championship follows a successful event that was run last year in October 2018 in Harrow.

The 2019 Championship is partially funded by the Affinity Care Group who have sponsors the Awards section of the Championship

Chris Campbell, Business Development Director for Affinity Care Group has said “We at Affinity are thrilled to be supporting the awards at the end of this fantastic event. Showcasing the skills and abilities of a wide range of athletes, celebrating their achievements within the sport.

We look forward to seeing those taking part, inspire others to become a part of Para Dance UK. As well as showing how the Affinity Care Group look to support the development and growth of the amazing event.”

Para Dance is also pleased to confirm that we have the continued support of Capezio London who have sponsored the goody bags for each of the athletes. We also have support from Bush & Co whose amazing staff will be volunteering on the day to enable the event to be the success it is each year.

Carly Johns, Marketing Manager for Bush & Co said “We’re delighted to be involved in the Para Dance UK National Championships again and our staff are excited to be volunteering on the day.

It’s an opportunity for us to support the charity more than just financially and see the great work in action. Last year’s volunteers were moved and inspired throughout the whole day by what people and dance can achieve and we’re confident this year will be no different.”

This year’s competition follows the same format as last year, but we are excited to have added an Open class to the Championship, which will enable more dancers to compete. The hope is that this change provides a great opportunity to those who would otherwise be excluded and that Para Dance UK will look to continue to provide more opportunities for Para Dance Athletes to compete in the sport within the UK
