Para Dance UK are delighted to announce that we will be sending a GB Team to compete at the World Para Dance Sport European Championships in Lomianki, Poland. The team will be made up of two Athletes Paula Moulton and Gary Lyness who rank 8th in the Official European Rankings in 2018. The couple will be competing in Class 2 Combi Latin and Freestyle and we hope will inspire more individuals to get involved and take part in the sport following their attendance just recently at the UK National Championships .
This attendance would not have been possible without the support of Champneys Charitable Foundation who have sponsored some of the Team GB cost and we look forward to doing you proud in the competition this week! Para Dance Sport is a growing sport across the UK and a sport that is recognised by the International Paralympic Committee. However, although the sport is growing at both a grass root and elite level, the continual lack of funding makes it increasingly difficult for us to expand and grow more couples to compete at elite level but we look forward to a future where Para Dance Sport Team GB has more supporters like Champneys who believe in enabling more athletes to compete for their country in the sport of Para Dance.
