I am writing this while watching the opening ceremony for the winter Paralympic games 2022I wish all the best of luck. Disability it’s about our ability.
My disability has a name Its part of me it’s not all of me. I have a mutual respect for it  because I know without it I won’t be the person I am today.  I wouldn’t of had the amazing life I’ve had so far and continue to live.

I try to keep myself fit and active to the best of my ability being part of Para Dance UK and sharing the love of dance with my friends has many benefits both physically and mentally and I also do cycling being part an accessible cycling group.Personally I  like to be surrounded by other people and friends. While cycling and then of course with a cup of tea afterwards.Out in the fresh air as well is really good for me getting fit and active at the same time so win-win.You can also use these opportunities with your friends to talk through things a problem shared is a problem halved.

March is Cerebral Palsy awareness month. Having a physical disability is hard at times I’m not going to lie I don’t like it when  I have a really bad spasm that hurts or I’m so tired the times. I have problems with the equipment I need to use to live an independent life.As a young woman I often dream about wearing high heels and what I would look like stood up & dancing.

We have to go through a lot and I think we have an inner power. Each one of us have something to offer. We can help each other learn from each other let’s embrace difference.

This is me and I think whether you have a disability or not life can be hard at times & we all have to try our best & try Take a bit of time out for yourself. Take a deep breath and smile and a bit of sparkle that always helps me.
