Gary Lyness, from affiliated group Strictly Wheels, has been elected as the National Representative for the Para Dance UK membership.
Gary, based in Manchester, won a tightly fought race against the incumbent Representative Sharon Edwards. The vote was 50% each and went to a coin toss with Gary the victor at the Para Dance UK national Forum on 10th November 2017.
Gary who has been a passionate advocate of Para Dance Sport in the UK said: “I’m really excited to take this next step with Para Dance in the UK, having taken part in the sport from Debutante to Top level over the last 6 years I’m hoping to bring that competitive experience to the table and be the voice of the club member and athlete.”
Gary has competed in a variety of National and International competition with his partner Paula Moulton with the couple competing at the 2017 World Para Dance Sport Championships on 21-22 October in Malle, Belgium. Malle, and the couple showcasing their skills at the UK National Para Dance Sport Championships on the 11th November.

The National Representative will serve a Four year term, acting as liaison between the athletes, members and instructors and the Para Dance UK Trustees.
