Celebrating International Women’s Day

Happy International Women’s Day!

Today is International Women’s Day, a day to celebrate women all over the world. Gender inequality isn’t going to magically disappear, but it allows us an opportunity to question the standards and stereotypes, giving a voice to those who need it most and empower one another along the way.

Together, we are strong. Together we can do more.

Every year, there is a new theme to break down the barriers when it comes to talking about female equality and this years theme is #BreakTheBias

Imagine a gender equal world.

A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.

A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive.

A world where difference is valued and celebrated.

Together we can forge women’s equality.

Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.

To mark this special day, we have put together a video celebrating women in dance and would like to invite you to take part in our Inclusive Dance Day on the 3rd of April.

If you haven’t already, you can sign up here: https://paradance.org.uk/this-girl-can-inclusive-dance/

Have Your Say

At Para Dance UK, we don’t want to stop there. We want disabled women to speak out and share their journey, whether that is in dance or any other way you challenge the stereotype.

We will be sharing your inspiring stories on our Inclusive Dance Day on the 3rd of April and we are asking you to submit your entries by the 25th of March.

Simply email your pictures, videos and stories to services@paradance.org.uk.

From everyone at Para Dance UK,

Happy International Women’s Day!
